The Germantown Life Enrichment has an amazing history as a pillar of the Germantown community. As Executive Director, I consider it a great honor to lead this organization in its next chapter. Like many of you, I have cherished childhood memories that took place in GLEC’s unique facility. It is here that I spent happy summers in the sports camp, won my first medal on the swim team and participated in some of the most amazing cooking classes.
Over the past eight years I have worked with the GLEC Board of Directors, staff and membership as we overcame many obstacles. We all owe a debt of thanks to Maurice Walls (former Executive Director) for his years of dedication and leadership which has enabled GLEC to survive a very challenging season in its existence. I am grateful for his sacrifice and hard work and I commit to building on the successes of the past decade. We will continue positive steps forward and our organization mission will drive our future efforts, including the design of plans to completely renovate the facility and an expansion of services and program offerings.
Your active participation and support is key to GLEC continuing its one hundred and forty seven year legacy of providing services to the community as “An historic association for community health, wellness, fitness and culture”. Only by working together can we fulfill our mission and purpose as an organization.
I thank you all for your warm wishes and with the greatest appreciation and excitement I look forward to the wonderful future of GLEC.
